I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
